Belfast City Hall celebrates history of LGBTQ+ Pride #PinkInOurLives #PinkNews #GailyNews

A stunning Pride-themed stained glass window has been installed at Belfast City Hall in celebration of the city’s LGBTQ+ community.

Taking to Instagram, Belfast City Hall wrote: “Check out our latest colorful addition to the City Hall – a new stained glass window marking the contribution of our city’s LGBTQ+ community. It was unveiled today after being installed earlier this week and attracted quite a crowd this lunchtime.”

The post added: “The window is packed with visual nods to the community’s development over the years, including significant moments and various campaigns for equality. Find it on the ground floor, in our main reception area, alongside out other artwork windows, all offering insight into Belfast’s story over the years.”

A video accompanying the post shows the window, which was designed with input from the LGBTQ+ community,  in all its rainbow glory, with the text “Pride” featured at the top.

Further messages on the window include “Give us our rose while we’re still here” – a phrase used by the trans community, particularly on Trans Day of Remembrance – and “marriage equality”.

The post has been flooded with positive support, with one comment reading, “Absolutely beautiful,” while another agreed that the window was “brilliant”.
