Last Thursday was the press conference for the election of Mister Gay Belgium 2016 at Divani in Antwerp, where the twelve contestants were introduced to the press for the first time. But next to getting to know the twelve guys more, it was also the start of the re-naming of the election, because it was formerly known as Mister Gay Flanders and from now on it will be called Mister Gay Belgium. Organizers and couple Bram Bierkens and Ivan Denis have decided to change the name to more nationally and combining the Flemish and French part of Belgium together.
In the next weeks till the Finale show on the 28th of May the contestants will show themselves to the public and try to gain your votes to become the Mister Gay Belgium 2016. Every candidate has their own theme that they want to bring under your attention and one of them will be taking over the title of the current Mister Skelte Willems.
At a big casting at Sunparks in Mol 12 new candidates were chosen from many guys who wanted to compete for the title. Every year it isn’t all about the looks like in most miss or mister elections, but the organization is searching again for somebody who can represent our gay community the best. Who is a spokesperson and does the most with his theme or problem and getting the most exposure out here and hopefully can make a difference??!! At this press event with a large arrival of press, celebrities, friends and family of the candidates organizer Bram introduced us the golden twelve for 2016. Also Mister Gay Belgium sells this year again the “NO”-chocolates against discrimination. But for who likes to watch his figure, they have something extra this year; The Mister Gay Belgium Calendar 2016. The organization is also going to start from now on to support each year a foundation and this year it will be “t Kwadraat”. A foundation for LGBT (wannabe) parents and their children.
