Every year, the Mr Gay Belgium organization looks for a new ambassador for and from the LGBT + community.
Due to the Corona pandemic, the MGB final in 2020 had to be postponed no less than 2 times. On October 17th 2020, a new Mister was elected during a vibrant gala in the Antwerp theater Elckerlyc. Joren Houtevels was then allowed to place the title to his name.
His reign will now be longer than one year. Because unfortunately of the COVID-19 virus, there will be no final in May 2021.
“The new edition will only start in January 2022”, MGB organizer Bram Bierkens tells us. “Naturally, the organization and our current Mister Gay Joren Houtevels will continue to do their utmost in the meantime, because in these difficult times we must not forget the well-being of the LGBT community. Especially now there is a need for extra visibility and support. Many LGBT and transgender people feel lonely or struggle even more with their feelings”.
We still have to wait a while for a new Mr. Gay Belgium edition performance with again strong and varied finalists, but you can already apply for the MGB casting days via www.MrGayBelgium.be
