A BITE OUT OF OUR PINK WORLD www.pinkinourlives.com
What better Festival than Pink Lake can be mentioned on Pink In Our Lives!!!
The eighth annual Pink Lake LGBT Festival, on beautiful Lake Wörthersee, Southern Austria has started again today till the 6th of September. Pink Lake is a four-day festival for the international LGBT community and their friends, and each year it gets larger and larger. In fact, last year, over 4500 overnight stays were booked as a result of Pink Lake, with 800 to 1200 people attending each nightly event. The program provides a colorful mixture of events involving entertainment, partying, relaxation and sports.
Pink Lake is a must for the LGBT community, because it has a lot to offer. Lake Wörthersee is located in the southernmost area of Austria, by the borders of Italy and Slovenia. It feels you are in the movie “Sound of Music” at the foot of the Alps. The region offers historic grand villas and a lovely lake promenade. The place Velden offers modern wellness hotels, trendy bars, cozy restaurants, relaxing cafes and a wide variety of boutiques and stores, welcoming the LGBTI community with open arms.
The ever-popular Pink Lake allows the LGBTI community to end the summer with a big splash. The entire festival takes place directly on Lake Wörthersee. The Lake isn’t only beautiful, but also one of the warmest lakes in Europe and has been up to 28 degrees Celsius during Pink Lake. It’s perfect for swimming, boating, water skiing, sailing, parasailing, banana boat rides….or just sitting with a nice bottle of wine and enjoying the incredible view.
For parties there are different kind of events to participate in. At the rowdy Austrian themed Almdudler Trachtenparty you have to get your Lederhosen on. This party will take place on the refurbished Gemonaplatz in the center of the chic and beautiful town of Velden. The handsome, super sexy and very talented Chris Bertl will rock the house with his live act, performing the Music of the Alps. Get your Austrian folk outfit on and join the party on Thursday.
The Roller Disco Party at the Velden’s Eishalle (Ice Rink) gets everybody HOT. This spectacular, open-air and roofed venue hosts the very lively and colorful Pink Lake Roller Disco. Whether you decide to skate, dance or relax, a great time is guaranteed! On Friday, this new roller skating party will include great entertainment, including a live DJ and an action-packed, hilarious show from our beloved drag queens Melli and Mataina.
The Pink Lake Boat Cruise Party is one of the highlights of the Pink Lake festival. Beginning at sunset, guests have a fantastic time cruising around the stunning lake, sipping cocktails, meeting new friends and dancing under the stars – all accompanied by their own private DJ on their respective boat. Rock the boat with the Pink Lake Boat Cruise Party and I bet you won’t get seasick!!!
Everyone has a great time and leaves their attitude at home at these LGBT events. A very mixed crowd of guests (gay, lesbian, trans, hetero, married, single, old, young) enjoy here great parties, sports, swimming, relaxation, music and great food, and of course, the company of others! Most of the guests are from Austria and Germany, but about 25% of the guests also come from over 20 other countries, including Italy, Slovenia (Ljubljana is only one hour away), the Czech Republic, UK, Switzerland, Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, France, Croatia, Norway, Belgium, Thailand, Mexico, the USA and beyond.
During the daytime, each guest can be as active or passive as s/he likes! The Pink Lake SOL Beach Club is located at Park’s Hotel in Velden, and offers the perfect atmosphere to relax, swim in the alpine lake and soak up the late summer sun. This Beach Club’s amazing location offers an expanse of fine sand beach, direct access to the lake and a huge roof terrace.
