In case you couldn’t tell, Lil Nas X has had an extreme grip on us throughout his entire Montero album promotion cycle. I mean, he’s been releasing bop after bop, he’s hot as hell, and he’s literally the only A-list male musician out there that’s constantly releasing horny content, so why wouldn’t we be obsessed with him?! He is the moment!
Well, after several months and some excessive coverage of Lil Nas giving Satan a lap dance, ripping his pants, kissing his dancer, having a possible secret boyfriend, and dancing in his stoned underwear, we’ve finally arrived at the Montero’s album. The album is out and spoiler alert for anyone, who hasn’t had the chance to listen:’shame on you!) It fuckin’ slaps. It is a slap of an album that’s full of fuckin’ slappers.
Along with the new album, Lil Nas X also released the official music video for one of his best songs – THATS WHAT I WANT. Like everything else we’ve seen from the 22-year-old, the video is unapologetically queer and it even has some surprise gay references thrown in as a bonus!
The video follows the rapper as he discovers that the lover he’s been going on cowboy camping trips with is hiding a secret family. Upon the release of this video, many on Twitter were quick to point out that the campout scene, a shot of Lil Nas crying in a car, and select other moments were reminiscent of the 2005 Oscar-winning film Brokeback Mountain.
In addition to some subtle Brokeback references, the video also features an extremely hot scene with Lil Nas X and his football lover hooking up in the locker room. Lil Nas X can be seen shirtless as the two passionately make out, strip down, and head to the locker room showers for some anal action. (Not the first time we’ve seen Lil Nas X naked in a shower!)
We then get a surprise shot of Lil Nas X ripping open a condom in what is probably the most seamless ad placement that we’ve ever seen in a music video and honestly – him tearing open that rubber was hot as hell. This is probably the only time I’ve ever watched a video on the internet and been genuinely ecstatic to see a condom appear out of no where.
