In 2012 Milkshake Festival arrived for one day and after a few years this big event is doing their amazing thing for a whole weekend. Even on Friday there is the Mini-Milkshake. Normally it should be their TEN Year Anniversary, but Miss Corona made this impossible to hold this winning streak. But no worries they are here this upcoming weekend starting from the 29th till the 31st of July bringing back their famous milkshake to the yard.
We have the privilege to experience each year their different stages each day and to be entertained with great dancers, Deejays, fashion and amazing hosting.
Milkshake Festival is an open-minded electronic dance festival that has made its mark in the city centre of Amsterdam. There are 9 stages per day that showcase (inter) national event promotors, artists and performance artists. With the most played genres being house, disco, pop, techno, R&B and dancehall, there is something for everyone, a delicious recipe to tantalize all your taste buds.
Their first episode of Milkshake Amsterdam took place in 2012, right in the heart of the city. They’ve been in love with this beautiful location ever since. Throughout the years, Milkshake has amplified its voice and spread more love than you can imagine, with Indoor editions in various venues and festivals in Brasil in 2017 and 218. Love has no borders! The possibilities are endless, and they aim to explore them all.
But it is not only just a party for the organizers, but also each year, each year Milkshake partners up with the For All Who Love Foundation to create Mini Milkshake, which is for people with disabilities and their caretakers to enjoy an afternoon of music, performances and a whole load of activities. This foundation pays special attention to minority groups in 4 pillars: LGBTQIA +, the elderly, people with disabilities, and they support projects against racism and discrimination. How can you not LOVE this!!!
Everything Milkshake creates originates from their strong belief in radical freedom. They are working towards global unity, love, peace, and acceptance. Their intention is to create and give a platform to (performance) artists that belong to underrepresented groups that are not yet wholly accepted in our society. Life is a party thanks to the tremendous diversity of skin colours, religions, sexual preferences and gender expressions. Thick, thin, small, large, gay, straight, trans, black, white and everyone in between: people are the salt of the earth, and this is what we celebrate!
Pink In our Lives will be there again on Saturday and Sunday to see all your beautiful creatures to caption you on our cameras and showing all this love to our world. If you see us, come say hi, let your picture be taken, shake your booty and share your stories with using the hashtag #pinkinourlives or tagging us on Instagram.
Keep the slogan “For All Who Love” alive and let us all celebrate again! ???????????
