IMG_4578 There are many places in this world to visit,  prides to go to and enjoy, good restaurants to have dinner and many parties and shows to entertain us. And we know that all gays love this, don’t we?!?

That is why we have this section to tell you all about the beautiful places or where you can find great entertainment in our world. Off course we choose this all for the gay public, but it has to be straight friendly as well. We want a free and tolerant environment, where diversity and respect are highly valued. No prejudice to the straight people…… they were also born this way LOL

IMG_8947This time we have chosen for you the ambiance restaurant Mas’kara in Belgium. This restaurant is already well-known in the citylife of Antwerp. They were honoured in 2007 and 2008 for Best Entertainment Restaurant in Belgium. They offer you a total package with nice food, drinks, a  great show and dancing. Mas’kara is definitely the place to be for a amazing Friday or Saturday evening full entertainment. A night  you will never forget.IMG_8950

Last monday on the 28th of january it was the annual monday night in January where all the restaurants or pubs come to Mas’kara . These people can’t come on a Friday or Saturday to this ambiance restaurant and this evening is especially organized for them. This place exists almost for eleven years now, even during the time of crisis in  Belgium. People can enjoy  a good entertaining show with the finest showqueens and after that enjoy a great dance night with the DJ of the house. This Monday came 234 people watching their show (A full house) and it was like everytime a good show. We always go with a bunch of friends at least to these nights in January and in June and sometimes in between too. Every half year they bring a new show with performances of the best showqueens. They entertain you with look-a-likes, dance tunes, ballads and humor. Even the great leading lady and part owner Zsa Zsa Lamore gives up a stand-up comedian act that leaves the crowd with rolling tears of laughter down their cheeks. The way she tells the stories or jokes is in a way that no other showqueen does. She does not spare off course any of the guests with witty comments, rough language and obscene gestures, but it is all part of the act. You will love it!!!

Normally there are always three other “ladies” who join her on stage, but this time they had a special guest for the evening. Most guests on this monday night know her too, but for the reason that she had moved to London two years ago, nobody could have guessed that she was here. Yana international ( winner of the showqueen awards in 2008 and here on your left) came on stage and she did an outstanding performance with a number from the musical Sunset Boulevard. She was overwhelmed herself for all the attention and applause. She was glad to came back for this from London. And we were also happy to see her again too!!!

The other girls on stage were:

Star (here on your right): she did a great performance of Kylie and even a number of Lady Gaga starting with a piano on stage. Star is for almost eleven years also the regular understudy ,when another girl is sick or on vacation. She is a girl, who can entertain in various ways.

Sederginneke ( here on your left): a “girl” who is only 19 years old  with a big mouth (literally). She brings a lot of laughs to the stage with her numbers. A special credit to her for this Monday, because she was still doing her acts, even though she had hurt her ankle on vacation in Thailand two weeks before. Hooray for the painkillers and that she could have been on stage 😉 It was hilarious.

Tonight also Vanessa Van Cartier (here on your right) shined on stage with numbers from Gladys Knight and Madame Butterfly. IMG_8995Vanessa was in 2010 miss of all misses showqueens in Belgium and she brings a variety of acts with lots of sparkle, glitter and glamour. She rocked the house and is terrific in everything she does.

This night she was not here, but from February the legendary drag queen will come back in Mas’kara: Liz Harley (here on your left). She is well- known for her superb and extravagant and mostly revealing outfits and her crazy rock on performances. Her husband Fernando and she are the other co-owners of this great venue.

And off course the leading lady of the house Zsa Zsa will not only welcome you when you arrive, but also talks the show like a perfect host through perfection. She is a real diva and well known in Antwerp and abroad. She is soon 20 year performing of stage, she acts, she can tell jokes, she can move ( a great persiflage of Gangnam Style on this night), she gives a lot of different acts and make the stage always her own. Most fear her, but she has a heart of gold. She gives it to the audiences straight and that makes that a lot of people always come back and enjoy the show. Not only Belgium people visit this dinner spectacle, but they have visitors from The Netherlands, Germans, English and even from the States who enjoy a good night out.

This ambiance restaurant can’ t survive offcourse without their whole staff and should get some extra credits too. Not only the great show, but also the female cook and great service of the waiters and bar staff make this venue a perfect night out for you to enjoy. So it is no surprise that a lot of bachelor parties, companies or just good friends come here for a night full of laughter and entertainment. They even had some weddings organized over there. The showqueens also perform outside Mas’kara and you can find them on studio 54 ( ), in the gay discotheque red and blue (, Gay pride Antwerp of in most of the other gay pubs or clubs.

We were the last persons to leave last Monday and we had a great time from beginning to end with our bunch of 22 friends. These nights gather so many people every year and the crowd gets bigger and bigger. The fun starts already on these special nights with seeing all the friends together. One big gay family!!! With the drinks coming… and coming….IMG_4580 and coming next to a very naughty dessert (see picture), we had a fabulous time. 205635_10200621558164265_1140799575_nAlmost at the end the leading lady always asks if we want an extra number and before that she tells a little story. All though I have heard it so many times, it gives me goosebumps over and over again.  But it is definitely the truth.

“There are so many wrong things happening on this earth, like 9/11, killings, rapes, bombing and child molesting. But one thing you can say about it, it was never done by a gay person. So when somebody still say homophobic remarks or kill the gays, please tell everybody about this evening and tell them that the gays are not that bad at all. Thank you and good night”

And then always starts the never boring end of the show. One of the showqueens Star start undressing and removing his wig and make –up to changing himself into the man he is on the song I am who I am !!!. Everybody gets in the mood with this final act and nobody was ready to go home immediately. So we didn’t 😉 😉 😉

So whenever you are in Antwerp/Belgium and you have the time, you should visit Mas’kara in Borsbeek/Belgium. See website for more information:

A last special message will go out today to Zsa Zsa Lamore AKA Danny Calander, because on the day we post this he will also be celebrating his birthday today. Congratulations and many more great years to come!!!

Keep on smiling everybody and have a great Pink day

Somewhere, over the rainbow, way up high….

As you all already know I named my blog “Pink in our lives” and I like to write about anything with a pink side on it. But why is the color PINK not in our Rainbow Flag then??? This is the color everybody immediately links to gays (and little girls that are born ;o)). So why not put that colour in the Flag??
Well if you look into the history and the creator of this Flag, you will find an answer and maybe something that you did not know yet. Because after all most gays do not care about all this stuff. They just see this Flag as a recognition sign to know where they have to be for gay people. And to be honest I never looked into that deeper myself ;-((. It is mostly about how deep they can get in LOL……

But the Flag has some important history and it makes us all come closer, when there is a Pride or an event. So I thought why not take the first step and look into it for myself and I found out some interesting stuff….

In 1978, Gilbert Baker (born in Kansas in 1951 and see picture) designed the first – ever Rainbow (or Gay Pride) Flag as a symbol of LGBT pride, liberation and diversity. “In the beginning the Rainbow Flag was about liberation. It was about breaking free of an existence limited by fear and conformity, the right to express sexuality without shame or retaliation from those who legislate “morality.'” When Gilbert Baker handcrafted a rainbow flag many years ago in honour of San Francisco’s Gay Freedom Day, he had no idea the impact it would have around the world. “But I did know right away that it would change my life,” said Baker, who now lives in New York City. “Because of the flag I’ve had the chance to meet people from all around the world who have given me their perspective on gay communities worldwide.”

Baker served in the U.S. Army from 1970 until 1972. After an honorable discharge he taught himself to sew. He began making banners and ultimately the Rainbow Flag for his friend Harvey Milk, who was later assassinated on Nov 27, 1978. Gilbert, an artist then living in San Francisco, dyed and sewed the material for that first flag in 1978. He wanted a symbol for the gay and lesbian community as an alternative to the pink triangle, which came from the pink triangle badge used in Nazi concentration camps during the Second World War to identify homosexual men.                                                                                                            gilbert-baker-500-480x480

Gilbert Baker  helps stretch the mile and quarter long ‘World’s longest Rainbow Flag’ on June the 15th of 2003 from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic coast. This was to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the flag. With that creation, Baker broke his own record previously awarded in 1994 for his mile long Rainbow Flag in memory of the 25th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots

The flag debuted at the San Francisco Gay and Lesbian Freedom Day Parade. It has since been used around the world as a symbol of LGBT unity in many variations, including adaptations such as bumper stickers and decals. The Rainbow Flag is recognized by the International Congress of Flag Makers. The Rainbow (Pride) Flag lives in the public domain.

GBOCtm1Colors of the Rainbow Flag:

The original flag had eight stripes from top to bottom: pink (sexuality), red (life), orange (healing), yellow (sunlight), green (nature), turquoise (magic), indigo/blue (serenity), and violet (spirit). Within a year, the flag had shed two of its stripes—pink and violet.

So Gilbert’s original design had eight stripes. The colours represented, in the same order, sexuality, life, healing, sun, nature, art, harmony and spirit. But when Baker approached a San Francisco-based flag company about mass producing the banners, he was told pink was not available. San Franciscans Celebrate Gay Pride“The flag was so popular and the demand was so huge, I had literally exhausted the supply of pink fabric,” he said. “Then the flag company told me there was no such thing as pink nylon because there are no flags with pink in them.” According to Gilbert, they “ran out of pink dye”. The violet stripe was later taken out to create an even number of stripes on the flag.

Since, many variations of the flag have been created. For instance, a black stripe is added to some symbolizing those lost to AIDS. There are also variations to represent bisexual people, bears and others. Also the flag colours are used in many variations to show that the gays are everywhere, for showing support or just for fun. See here some of the examples ;o))

There will you find next to updates about this blog, also some fun stuff and information.

So this was not a biggie post, but also the small ones need to be appreciated ;P

fak 352Have a great Pink day!!!

Big kiss,

First of all I want to wish you all a very happy new year and let’s hope it will be a better one than 2012!!! It always has to get better and better. 2012 had already some good stuff going on like legalizing gay marriages in some countries and in some States in America.  But also lots of bad stuff like businesses going down, gay bashing, gay icon Donna Summer dying at only 63 years old and many more bad things everywhere.zandloper00

One good thing that will start in the beginning of this new year is my new blog Pink in our lives. Yeah… I am really excited about this. I am preparing this blog for a few months now and I thought “hmm…which date to start will be better  than the first day of the new year”!!!  Although writing this all with a hangover from New Year’s Eve is not so easy, but what the heck…We went out 2012 with a bang ;P And yes just out with a bang…. and not a gangbang boys ;o)

After all my social  media (Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Linkedin, Pinterest and even the tumblr blogspot with all my hotties of the day, I thought it was time for my really own private blog. I thought a lot about the content and name of this blog.( It is like getting an rectal exam for the first time ;-((..not so easy ) But I am going to tell you about that later and I do not mean about the rectal exam LOL.

What is my blog about? It is a place where I can express my feelings to whom it may concerns. I can talk about stuff that interests me and maybe surprise people ;o)) The blog is a really infotainment blog, a blog to inform and entertain you!!!

The blog is about the “Pink” in everybody’s life and definitely in my life.  I went from straight to gay.  I have been in love, engaged, married and divorced. No children of our own (yet??) Hard working, but also lots of parties, holidays, together at home on the couch or lovely dinners with friends. I have all experienced this with a pink view in my life.

It is all about being myself and being proud of who I am. I do not feel different, even though some people may think we are. Who cares?!?!  That is why writing this blog is important and hopefully it will give a different perspective about our “gay” lives. I want to contribute something to the pink community and yes maybe there are enough blogs and sites about it. So what… Who gives a F…!!! The more the merrier, because there is still enough prejudice and ignorance regarding the gay life.

Even my boyfriend has his great blog “Demanding Blog” and they are different from each other, because we are both different persons.  rene

You definitely have to check this blog out too.  We have different views on things, looking into things from different angles and we write in our own special way. There is so much to tell or show….

There are also so many straight blogs, why not keep up an even balance ;o))

I am going to write about everything and keep it fun, entertaining and who knows me “always smiling” LOL.  I am trying to update this blog as much as I can, with sometimes little stuff like need to know facts or with interesting stories. You will not be disappointed. So join me on this adventure and the “about me” section will be filled in soon, so read it if you are interested ;o))).

Have a great 2013 already and I will talk to you all later.

You know you love mefoto01
