Half November a message came of the tragic news that gay porn star Tyler Roberts was fighting for his life in the ICU at a Palm Springs, California hospital after suffering multiple-organ failure. Unfortunately the news got to us now that he has died of his complications last weekend.
Roberts, a legendary and beloved performer who’s starred in dozens of gay porn scenes since his debut in 2008, was on vacation in Palm Springs when his medical crisis began, and family members are with him now as he’s hopefully able to recover. Details on what led to the hospitalization and what the exact prognosis is were not immediately available at that time, but a verified GoFundMe has been launched to help cover hospital costs and other expenses, as detailed in the message below from Roberts’ family:
“Our funny, sweet, sassy, gentle giant has fallen into critical condition while on vacation in Palm Springs. He’s currently battling for his life in the ICU, facing heart, liver, and kidney failure, among other dangerous ailments. We need him to focus on healing and stabilizing, so we’re asking his family, friends, and community for support. We need to raise funds for his bills (rent, car, utilities, etc.) and medical costs to relieve any stress while he is in the hospital. We’re also raising money for his mother, Lori, and partner, Josh, to be able to stay in Palm Springs by his side. Neither of them lives in California, so they will need funds for their long-term stays and food since they cannot work. Please keep [Tyler] in your thoughts and send healing energy his way during this scary and unpredictable time”.
Sister Roma Roma: “I’m heartbroken at the loss of Eric Ryan Hazen, aka Tyler Roberts. He was a kind soul and a beautiful human being inside and out. We were lucky to spend time together on a gay cruise in 2020 right before the pandemic. Touring Puerto Rico and getting matching temporary henna tattoos was one of the highlights of my trip. Over the many years of our friendship I watched him travel the world, fall in and out of love, and redefine himself time and time again. I watched him grow from a shy young twink in the Castro to an internationally recognized Adonis – but he never lost his boyish charm and love for life. I will miss his brilliant smile and warm hugs. Sending my love to all who knew him, this is a hard one”.
His BF Aaron Thomas aka Josh and his mother Lori would love to thank everybody for all the funding, but he did not survive his medical condition and wrote this letter. May Eric rest in peace and be another star in heaven. All our condoleances go out to his partner and family.
