Sex Education returns on Netflix on September 17. With Eric and Adam as a full-on couple, Ola and Lily (Tanya Reynolds) continuing their romance, and Cal and other nonbinary and LGBTQ+ characters, Sex Education’s third season is its queerest yet.
“It’s a new year, Otis is having casual sex, Eric and Adam are official, and Jean has a baby on the way. Meanwhile, new headteacher Hope (played by Jemima Kirke) tries to return Moordale to a pillar of excellence, Aimee discovers feminism, Jackson gets a crush and a lost voicemail still looms. Prepare for commitment animals, alien phenomena, vulva cupcakes and much more of Madam Groff.”
Change is afoot for the students of Moordale on Netflix’s Sex Education with the arrival of the new headteacher, Hope (Jemima Kirke), who values uniformity over self-expression. School uniforms aren’t the only thing she imposes on favorites Otis (Asa Butterfield), Eric (Ncuti Gatwa), Maeve (Emma Mackey), Adam (Connor Swindells), Jackson (Kedar Williams-Stirling), Ola (Patricia Allison), and the rest of the lot. Of course, Gillian Anderson is back as Otis’s hyper-evolved mum, Jean. And joining the cast this season is nonbinary actor Dua Saleh as Cal (a nonbinary student from America).
The series is written and created by Laurie Nunn and produced by Eleven.
