After years of struggle, country music singer Ty Herndon has come out publicly as a gay man at the age of 51.
After a divorce from his second wife, bankruptcy, gaining 75 pounds, financial and legal problems and two stints in drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities, Herndon had an epiphany. “I realized I had an incredible story that could possibly help someone’s son or daughter or grandchild’s life not be as difficult as mine has been. Maybe they wouldn’t have to go through as much pain and suffering. It’s time to tell my truth. I was 10, sitting in church and horrified that I might be a homosexual. Whatever that word meant, I knew that I probably was one. And I know there’s a lot of those kids still out there. Telling my story is an opportunity to help just one of them.’ Congratulations for being so brave and trying to be a role model right now. Welcome to our family!!!

Jin Tai has become the first Taiwanese singer to publicly come out as gay after years of interest in her sexuality. Tai found fame on televised singing competition Star Avenue in 2007 and was formerly the lead singer of tomboy band Misster. Tai also has a girlfriend of four years but her identity is still a secret.

#CONGRATULATIONS!!! Will & Grace star Sean Hayes has married his same-sex partner Scott Icenogle, a music producer last week. Despite starring as outgoing gay character Jack McFarland in the sitcom, Hayes has always been guarded about his own private life, only confirming he is gay in 2010. He had been engaged for several years in secret. The Will & Grace alum told the world by tweeting a photo of him and husband Scott Icenogle, a composer, with this caption: ‘Here’s a #TBT photo of @scotticenogle and me getting married last week. Took us 8 years but we did it!

Country singer Billy Gilman became the youngest person to land on the Top 40 country music charts when his 2000 hit “One Voice” charted when he was 12-years-old. He came also out of the closet shortly after other country singer Ty Herndon told the world he was gay!!! Gilman revealed that he’s been in a relationship with a man for the last five months. Congratulations and welcome to our family!!! “You know, it’s difficult for me to make this video” Billy tells. “Not because I’m ashamed of being a gay male artist or a gay artist or a gay person. But it’s pretty silly to know that I’m ashamed of doing this knowing that because I’m in an genre and industry that is ashamed of me for being me. That said, I want to say that all of the country artists that literally I grew up with – Keith Urban, Vince, Lee Ann Rhimes and all of these wonderful friends of mine have been nothing but supportive. New HIV Naked Shower Selfie Campaign Shows #WeareALLclean and what do we enjoy this challenge!!! ;o)
Jack Mackenroth has teamed up with gay social media app Moovz to raise money for HIV/AIDS organization Housing Works as we head towards World AIDS Day on December 1. The new campaign combats the “Are you clean?” stigma. This campaign is merely stating the fact that just because you live with HIV it doesn’t necessarily mean that you are dirty. This campaign is trying to go against the stigma of being labeled that way. How you can participate??
1) Take a selfie or Vine video of yourself in the shower.** NO EXPLICIT NUDITY**
2) Post your photo on Moovz and all social media platforms with the caption “Take HIV Shower Selfie Challenge raise $$ for AIDS cure bit.ly/CUREAIDS #weareALLclean”
