It’s almost Christmas and that means it’s time to put some charities in the spotlight. Belgian TV-hosts Rene Emmerink and Jens Geerts (from the European gay channel OUTtv) did some research and found two “Omazing” stories on Omaze.com.
Because they were so moved by the story of Dustin Lance Black and Tom Daley, Jens and Rene decided to donate some money and are even willing to accept the offer to go on a double date with them!

YouTuber Connor Franta has come out as gay in an emotional video on his channel.
In the video the 22-year-old addressed his 3.6 million followers, saying: “I’m just going to be really honest… 2014 is truly the year that I have accepted who I am and become happy with that person. “Today I want to talk to you guys about that and be open and honest, and tell you that I’m gay.” Franta joined YouTube in 2010, and often makes videos with other stars, such as Miranda Sings.

FINLAND IS THE 20th EUROPEAN COUNTRY TO LEGALIZE SAME-SEX MARRIAGE!!!
Finland is the last Nordic country to approve the legalization of same-sex marriage (joining Denmark, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden) and is the twelfth European state to do so. Since 2002, Finnish same-sex couples have been able to enter registered partnerships. They will now be able to have the same legal rights as opposite-sex couples, including adopting children and sharing a surname. Same-sex marriage has been legalized now in all Nordic countries. In practice, it is expected that the first same-sex weddings will take place in March 2017.The Netherlands was the first country in the world to approve same-sex marriage in 2001.

Hunky Gay vampire and gay werewolf shared kiss in recent episode of Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals!!! It has made its mark with a same-sex storyline between a vampire and a werewolf. It began with gay vampire Josh (Steven Krueger) flirting online with gay werewolf Aiden (Colin Woodell) – something that is quite forbidden in a world where vampires and werewolves are not compatible.

Poland makes history by electing its first openly gay mayor Robert Robert Biedron!!!
The 38-year-old, a member of maverick MP Janusz Palikot’s ultra-liberal ‘Your Movement’, won the mayoral elections in Slupsk, northern Poland, today (1 December). Voters in the Eastern European country, which is 90% Roman Catholic, showed their support behind LGBTI campaigner Robert Biedron. Congratulations!!!

Coming Out to Play is a book about his life as a golden boy athlete who was suffering so much inside over being gay and suffering alone. Once he couldn’t keep up the charade any longer, it all happened very quickly: coming out to his family, getting his first boyfriend, deciding to quit soccer, and deciding to come out to the world in a post he linked to his Twitter account. His story illustrates how you can seemingly have it all: good looks, amazing athletic ability and success and still be miserable in the closet. It is such a moving story, so well told and very candid and detailed. Maybe a good idea to buy as Christmas present.

Anneliese Mackintosh wins LGBTI literary award!!!
The Manchester-based talent won the Green Carnation Prize 2014 (which celebrates LGBTI writing in any form) for her book Any Other Mouth; a part-novel, part-memoir, part-short story collection.Mackintosh told Gay Star News: ‘I am absolutely thrilled to have won the Green Carnation Prize. I’ve seen the award grow over the past couple of years and it is an honour to be this year’s winner. The fact that this is an award for LGBT writers particularly resonates for me, as the book contains some of the first pieces I’ve ever written in reference to my sexuality”. Australian Bobsledder Simon Dunn comes out of the closet as gay and is the first person in this sport to come out!!! Dunn also plays rugby for the Sydney Convicts, and says it was an easy crossover sport into bobsledding as training for both of them require similar exercises. Dunn is also quite active on Instagram, posting some sexy shots of him playing rugby, showing off his guns and numerous shirtless pictures. If he does not make you a bobsled fan who will? ;o)
