True Blood hunk and longtime LGBT ally Joe Manganiello attended the Human Rights Campaign Seattle Dinner to accept the Ally for Equality Award. He said: “You know I never set out to be an advocate, I’m simply a person who believes in equality for everyone. And I’m a person who believes in standing up for his friends. And if I’m being completely honest, there’s a small part of me that felt weird about accepting an award just because I think that everyone should be treated the same – that each individual be allowed the basic human right to love whomever their heart wants to love without fear or hatred or prejudice”. The Los Angeles LGBT Center presented a garden party benefiting Gay & Lesbian Elder Housing (GLEH), the premier developer of LGBT-friendly affordable housing for low-income seniors at the Hancock Park home of Abbey founder David Cooley. Two seniors spoke passionately and movingly about their lives and about their experience living in housing that is especially for LGBT people. Many famous LGBT people came to socialize, schmoozing and to have a wonderful day like Tuc Watkins, Justin Bird, Greg Louganis and his husband, Darryl Stephens, Debbie Holliday, Center Board Member Peter Paige and LA LGBT Center CEO Lorri Jean and celebrity chef Susan Fenniger. The Footballer’s Wives & Eastenders playing gay actor was joined by his co-stars Andrew Dunn, Rupert Hill, Louis Emerick, Martin Miller and Bobby Schofield on stage at the press night at the city’s Opera House. Gary Lucy apparently gave the audience more than they bargained for during a performance of The Full Monty on September the 18th. The show’s grand finale calls for the male cast members to strip live on stage while their intimate parts are tactfully hidden by a selection of bright lights. However, for the second time this week, the lights failed to work as planned, leaving the Footballer’s Wife actor and his cast mates exposed onstage. Twin brothers Luke and Adam Monastero recently came out to their parents, and recorded the whole thing on video. The non-identical twins decided to speak to their parents about their sexuality when they were all together in the kitchen, and their announcement was met with some surprise. Their parents already thought that Luke may be gay, but had no idea that Adam was struggling with his sexuality. Watch how they reacted on their sons:
