Friday evening the 29th of May out of twelve candidates in Antwerp Theater Elckerlyc in an entertaining live show finally a Mister Gay Flanders 2015 has been chosen. His name is Skelte Willems!!! In a venue with 800 guests among many fans and supporters of the candidates, Mister Gay World 2014 Stuart Hatton Jr., the current Mister Gay World 2015 Klaus Burkhardt,
dragqueens and lots of previous candidates and winners of Mister Gay Flanders enjoyed the show and off course Pink In Our Lives came to cover the event for you.
In the entertaining show the twelve competitors, who also became good friends in the last few months, were all going for the gold namely the title of Mister Gay Flanders 2015 and the big prize package worth around 6000 Euro. They had to do different challenges like an art challenge and a catwalk and media training and appearances everywhere to present themselves since from the beginning of February till this evening. But on this evening they were going to bare it all to the public and I mean everything!!! Not only a feast for our eyes, but we got to know the contestants even better.
The show was greatly presented by organizer Bram Bierkens and divided in different parts where the contestants had to show why one of them deserved the title. Answering an important question regarding the LGBT community, giving us an underwear and swimwear choreo (Lucky us!) and showing an assembled t-shirt to present their personality or campaign. Performances of guest stars like Latin queen Belle Perez, amazing dancers Michael and Cedric, singer Ivann and showqueens Miss Ivana and Danity Grace in between the acts all rocked the stage. The show was also seen for the first time with a live feed on Youtube.
A big group of outstanding judges like amongst others the Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel, Fashion guru Jani Kazaltzis, Presenter Kobe Ilsen, health coach and model Niels Jonck decided who won the title and Skelte totally deserved it.
Skelte showed a great expression in his performance and presentation. His personal message about LGBT-adoption came across to the audience as his desire with his partner Kevin Dendooven to have a child together someday. The first runner-up became Jens van Maele (24) from Bruges and Bart Bruyninckx (24) from Deurne (Antwerp) became 2nd runner-up. Stijn Geeroms got the award of Mister Congeniality and winner Skelte also took the award for Mister Photogenic with him.
Pink In Our Lives wants to congratulate all the winners and wish them a great year to show their campaign and contribution to the LGBT community. Also thank you to the organizers Bram Bierkens and his partner Ivan Denis for a great evening.Thank you also the photograhers Johan Cansse, Johan Vos and Rene Emmerink for their contribution.
