For all the viewers that are not up-to-date with the episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7, you better not read this right now!!! (SPOILER ALERT)
Although season 7 had no outspoken characters like in season 6 and it started really slow and a bit dull, we’ve got to grow on these queens further along in the series. This season had to be realer according to RuPaul and it definitely did, but us Gays like it to be over the top!!! We want showstoppers, surprises, amazing acts and bitch fights, but we got boring untucked episodes and some bad performances in the challenges. We don’t want to see the magic of television taking away as what really happens behind the scenes. I have to give credit to the queens how beautiful and natural feminine they still look in the daylight in the untucked episodes. It looks sometimes even much better than their “manly” looks. Many queens should take that as an example of how it should be and not put on too many layers.
I wouldn’t say there was no talent in this season like many viewers commented and we all know the LGBT community always has something to critic. I thought most queens look fabulous and flawless, had creative costumes and were funny. It was that nobody really stood out of the crowd I this season. So it was difficult to pick one favorite. It could go either way and I think that makes this season different than other seasons.
The final three contestants Violet Chachki, Pearl and Ginger Minj got to know who the audience and off course mother RuPaul picked in a big show on the 1st of June to take the grand prize of 100.000 dollar and the title of RuPauls Drag Race winner of 2015.
The show took place at Orpheum Theatre and the audience got warmed up by former Drag Race Stars Bianca Del Rio, Latrice Royale and Alaska Thunderfuck. Michelle Visage looked thinner than ever, except for her fabulous boobies. The crowd got excited and many queens were in the audience waiting to the new winner be announced and crowned. Rupaul couldn’t make decision after the episodes and let all three queens perform a last time for the audience on stage in a number that describes their persona.
The winner gave also the best performance and THE WINNER IS…………The 22 years old Violet Chachki. Violet Chachki is the stage name of Jason Dardo, a drag performer from Atlanta, Georgia. She is a versatile performer and I don’t mean her performance in Gay Porn for Boy fun studios. ;o) Violet is gorgeous, has beautiful and interesting costumes. She is visually appealing as she say so herself. She came on the show as a Bitch, ventilating off to her fellow queens, but it all came from humor or honesty. A long the way in the show she showed vulnerability, honesty and a great creation of Alyssa Edwards during Snatch Game. She showed her talent and what she can do to the world. She is also the winner of the first challenge in Episode 1 “Born Naked”, Winner of the team challenge in Episode 10 “Prancing Queens” (Teamed with Katya) & Winner of the challenge in Episode 11 “Hey, Kitty Girls!” leaving her being one of the only queens to win 3 main challenges this season, alongside Ginger Minj of Season 7. She can cinch her waist to 18 – 19 inches. (She has the smallest waist in Drag Race herstory – and won’t hesitate to let you know it). Violet is also an aerialist. She did state that she despises Michelle Visage. This is due to Visage’s disagreement with Violet winning the first challenge and later announced that her harsh feelings towards Visage was just for the moment.
All three could have won for us, because each had their pros and cons to become the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, but Violet is the only one of the three who didn’t Lipsync for her life during the show. She was consistent and showed promise for the future. Congratulations from Pink In Our Lives for snatching the crown.
