White Lotus 3: Creepy nude scene with brother
The White Lotus actor Patrick Schwarzenegger has addressed his full-frontal nude scene in the first episode of season three, which was more creepy, horny and on-brand for the satirical comedy series.
Season three of Mike Whiteβs critically adored dark comedy anthology started this Monday. This time, Patrick Schwarzenegger (above) plays Saxon, the oldest child of the Ratliff family. Theyβre among the holidaymakers staying at the Thailand-based White Lotus resort. In a special scene at the end of episode one, the sex-obsessed Saxon and his youngest sibling Lochlan (Sam Nivola) are in their beds in their shared hotel room. In the bedroom, the pair have a crude conversation about a day trip with their sister and religious studies student Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) to a Buddhist temple.
βYou shouldnβt humour her bulls__t. She has issues she needs to deal with,β Β Saxon tells his younger brother. βFor one, which Iβm sure youβve noticed, sheβs pretty hot. But I donβt think sheβs ever been laid before. Buddhism is for people who want to suppress in life. It is good to want things, as long as you can get them. Getting what you want in life, thatβs happiness, bro.β
When Lochlan asks Saxon what he wants from life, Saxon rattles off a list, including βpussyβ. He tells his brother heβs βgood-lookingβ enough to βget laid, get everythingβ. βIβm gonna help you,β he adds. βSo, what kind of porn do you like? Hot teacher? Bukakke? The real question is how the f__k am I going to jerk off with you in here all week?β
Saxon decides heβll have to have his solo fun in the bathroom, wandering naked out of the room. As his penis is on display in the bathroom mirror, the audience is taking a good look, but unfortunately so is his brother. As the mystical White Lotus music plays, Lochlan looks longingly at his brother before he sees him and shuts the door.
Patrick Schwarzenegger explained to Vanity Fair, β[Saxon] is just like, βpussy, money, and freedom.β Those are the things. Thatβs all that matters in life. And thatβs a set-up of whatβs to come: when you donβt have those things, what does it do to you?β
Asked if he had any qualms about so vulnerable in episode one, the actor replied, βNo, nothing, and thereβs more to come! When youβre working with a writer and director and a showrunner and a creator like Mike [White], you put trust in him. When thereβs someone like him thatβs so brilliant at what he does, you put a different level of trust in someone like that. Heβs setting up just these little Easter eggs of what is odd and off about this family, which is fun. The end of the first episode, that scene was one of my favorite scenes. I just thought it was so awkward and brilliant at the same time. And it just showcases who my character is. And then he walks around just naked β itβs like a power shift and a power dynamic between the two of them. I remember reading that and just being like, βWhat?ββ
Patrick says the story takes the viewer βway beyond where your imagination would think it would goβ. βBedroom conversationsβ apparently get worse. Before the show even started, all three of the male Ratliff family members confirmed they have nude scenes this season. Patrick alluded to more uncomfortable βbedroom conversationsβ in episodes five and six, admitting he was really nervous to watch the episodes in front of his parents Arnold Schwarzenegger and ex Maria Schriver.
