Lap of Luxury once again shows the skillful blending of natural light and dramatic use of color that has made Mark Henderson a leader in the world of erotic male photography. Mark brings last century’s glorious style of nude photography into the present. Twelve months, twelve dream men. Henderson’s book Lap of Luxury, on which this calendar is based, takes us back to Henderson’s private paradise, placing the viewer directly in the seat of his unmistakable style and perfectly showcasing one of the world’s most luxurious treasures: the male body. Featuring Liam Riley, Sebastian Kross, Diego Sans, Boomer Banks, and Lap of Luxury cover model Pablo Hernandez.
Mark Henderson brought it all to us in his first high quality photo book Household Idols, featuring some of the sexiest, most handsome men in today’s male modelling industry. Placed in a domestic yet contemporary environment, and with his great sensibility in using light and shadows and a carefully picked color palette, Mark created his first book back in 2008 with so much success that a follow up simply could not be left out.
That follow up on Household Idols was Suburban Pleasures, which saw the light of day in 2010. And 
Poolside in 2011, Luminosity in 2012, American Eros in 2013 and Poolside Pleasures in 2014. Each single volume presenting us hundreds of full color pages showcasing men in several stages of (un)dress and private surroundings that makes your mouth water. Both men and the settings. Now you would think that if a photographer who specializes in erotic male nude images has produced 6 high quality photo books, you’ve seen it all. I can tell you, you couldn’t be further from the truth. Mark Henderson proofs that with his seventh book Lap of Luxury and calendar for 2017.
Mark is a photographer based in Texas who specializes in images of erotic male nudes. His work continues the tradition of physique and erotic pin-up photography, but with an emphasis on luxurious domestic settings and the expressive use of saturated color.
He worked for many years as an art historian at a leading cultural institution in Los Angeles but he is now a full-time 
photographer. He shoots primarily in his home state of Texas. In addition to the coffee table books devoted entirely to his photographs as mentioned here above, his work appeared regularly in Men, Freshmen, Unzipped magazines and his images have been featured in Männer, beautifulmag.eu, DNA, The Male Form, Display, Romeo, Wire, Cybersocket and other publications.
Lap of Luxury is nothing new in the sense that it once again focuses primarily on erotic male nudes. However, this seventh book project is a slight departure for Mark in that he intentionally reduced his color palette to a range of whites, blacks, beiges, greys, creams, silvers and subdued yellows, blues and green. With a pop of bright color here and there. Mark deliberately choose this palette to give the feel of understated luxury and elegance.
