A BITE OUT OF OUR PINK WORLD www.pinkinourlives.com
Broadway Bares just announced the theme for its 2017 show in NYC and in San Francisco.
The legendarily burlesque, a long-running benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will be a study of college life, and they’re calling it Strip U for New York City. Prepare yourself for teacher’s pets, student bodies, homecoming kings and queens, and surprise guests galore. Who doesn’t love a campus crawl filled with visual eye candy in the form of hot naked men? #yesplease
Using the collegiate theme as a jumping off point, Broadway Bares: Strip U combines the winking humor of classic burlesque with audience-favorite pop music to create a truly unparalleled show. Imagine the Broadway Bares take on a science lab exploding with sizzling chemistry or sculpted studs exhibiting model behavior in art class. We’re picturing oral quizzes. Locker room pillow talk. Fraternity hazing gone right.
Broadway Bares: Strip U (#BroadwayBares) will feature more than 150 of the hottest male and female dancers in New York City sharing their hearts – and bodies – with an eager crowd of thousands. The 90-minute show features Broadway’s most talented movers and shakers in a highly choreographed, highly produced spectacular. All this twerking and dancing in G-strings will arrive in New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom on June 18th. You could wait to watch highlights online, but there’s nothing like experiencing the live show where anything can happen.
Ticket details are at broadwaycares.org. For other information and merchandise, visit broadwaybares.com.
Philanthropy and all-star entertainment take center stage as the Richmond/Ermet Aid Foundation (REAF) presents Broadway Bares SF II: ManuSTRIPT: Literary Tales with Happy Endings – a special one-night-only benefit strip show benefiting REAF and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS on Sun. June 18, 2017 in San Francisco. Their San Francisco’s 2017 edition, “ManuSTRIPT” will feature dances based on famous literary characters and tales. Special guests appearing in this 2017 edition are reality TV star Cassandra Cass, cast members from the touring cast of “Hamilton” and San Francisco Imperial Court’s newly crowned Empress Mercedes Munro. Other special guests will be announced soon. Funds raised will support local HIV services through REAF and nationally through Broadway Cares in NYC.
Watch a trailer for the event:
Broadway Bares was created in 1992 by Mitchell, then a Broadway dancer, as a way to raise awareness and money for those living with HIV/AIDS. In Broadway Bares‘ first year, Mitchell and six of his friends danced on a New York City bar and raised $8,000.
Last year, the event celebrated its 26th edition with a tech-savvy, television-inspired spectacular. Broadway Bares: On Demand, which also was directed by Nick Kenkel, raised $1,482,724. The 26 editions of Broadway Bares have raised more than $15.8 million for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
To (pl)ease your appetite, they’ve just released a teaser highlighting some of the year’s hottest performers. Expect over 150 singers and dancers to strut their stuff, and all for the best cause imaginable.
