Belgian’s daring hit Party concept EXTRAVAGANZA takes normally place every two months in Antwerp and has been for almost three years now.
Its concept slogan ‘Come as you are’ says it all: it’s an open-minded event and welcomes a crowd of various kinds. Extravaganza is above all a place where you can be and express yourself in all openness. Time to see how open some of the crew members and the organizers are. PINK IN OUR LIVES spoke with them and will feature each of them on our website in the upcoming weeks.
Second one in the spotlight is one of the dancers of EXTRAVAGANZA: Sandro Cossero
What does Extravaganza means especially for you?
“A place where people come together, having fun, meeting others, where there is room for everybody despites how skinny, tall, big, color of skin, origin….you are.”
Tell us your greatest Extravaganza memory of all the parties that has been done?
“My very first Extravaganza experience was at Milkshake a few years ago on the SUPERTOYS stage. My very first theme was ROCK THE CASBAH.”
How do you feel about Gaypride and do we still need it these days?
“As being gay myself, I am 100 % PRO Gay Pride. After all the tragedies that happened lately we all should start respecting each other for who we all are, no matter what religion, skin color…We all are made out of the same bones and we all have one beating heart. We are all made out of different stars, we all are unique.”
What is your ultimate Extravaganza DREAM concept/outfit?
“When I was in high school I was always really fascinated by the Greek and Roman gods and goddesses. I think this would be a really beautiful theme. As a young child i was reading from the morning till the evening. I have read almost every children’s book about vampires. A theme with vampires through the centuries (the classic and modern versions) would very thrilling for me!!!”
If you could change something in the LGBT community, what would it be?
“I would sensitize the youth and youngsters more. I would go to schools (elementary and high schools) 
and about the LGBT community. Who are they, what do they do. It all starts with the education of the children of today.”
“As a teacher myself i speak about LGBT people in my classroom. Even though my kids are only 8-9 years old, it is my job to learn these kids that they are just human being like everybody else. And it is not always an easy task because my kids are from Turkish and Moroccan origin. In their culture it is a taboo subject.”
How would your life look like after TEN years from now?
“If I could find a man (yes I am still single) who says “I have found a little piece of magic” then I would be very happy. A man who makes me laugh, supports me in what I do, want to explore the world with me, running around naked in the house…..that is all I need.”
Tell our readers a secret about yourself that not many people know about you?
“On my back I have a big black tattoo. It is a crow. Almost nobody knows what the TRUE MEANING is for me personally. I can still count the persons on one hand who knows what it REALLY MEANS!!!”

Favorite music: “I am pretty eclectic as a dance teacher, but hey….I also like Madonna and Celine Dion.”
Clubbing or bar hopping: “Depends of the day in the week.”
Favorite sexual position: “I need a BF to experiment, then I will let you know.”
Pink In Our Lives: “I met you Lesley in 2005……unless you meant my pink tanktop with #swag on.”
Favorite designer: “I am not really into fashion designers…..when I see something that I like, I buy it.”
Naughty or nice: “I don’t understand the question???……;) 😉 ;)…..”
Milkshake or Tomorrowland: “Definitely Milkshake!!!”
Boxers or briefs: “Low cut briefs for me please.”
Future goal: “being surrounded with people that I love….like the tattoo(s) on my arm says:
La félicità è una strada, non un.”
