Last Friday in Gent, Belgium the candidates of Miss Travestie Belgium 2017 were introduced to the public and press. Normally there were six candidates, but in the end there are 5 different and great queens competing for the crown.
For PINK IN OUR LIVES we have send out showqueen Lola McQueen to the Press Conference to join
Showqueen Awards Organizer Selina Pearl, Showqueen of the year 2016 La Tash and other Miss Travestie Belgium winners like Baby V. and current MTB 2016 winner Dina Delvaux for the night of glitter and glamour.
Here is her report of the evening:
“Every year in November Leading Lady of Les Folles De Gand Miss Michelle and organizer of Miss Travestie
Belgium introduces the new candidates for this election. So I rent a car, did my make-up, choose a great outfit and put on my jewellery and drove to Gent, the homebase of Les Folles De Gand and Miss Michelle, the host of this great event!
This is a good moment to know each of the candidates, so when I came in all of the candidates with the reigning Queen Dina Delvaux were welcoming me and they brought me to my table.
For the first round Miss Michelle called on all candidates on stage to determine the order during the pageant! The youngest contestant could pick as first an envelope and the oldest contestant picks the last one!! Miss Michelle told us also how the pageant would work in February 2017; The contestants have to give a “SHOW YOURSELF-LOOK”, a presentation, 2 performances of how they want to present themselves to the audience and one DISCO performance and the best Disco Queen will perform also at Studio54 at Red & Blue in Antwerp!!!
After this we got our starter and had the time to talk about and with the candidates! We knew it would be difficult this year! Everyone looks different but there is a good level this year! Then it was time for the catwalk and the presentation round! We saw again beautiful dresses and some of the candidates gave a nice presentation about who they are and what they do! The game was definitely on and we were looking forward to the performance round!
Mystique Royal was the first contestant to start with her performance. She took a song from the movie “Burlesque” and shows her dance moves. She did it with a bang!
The second was Jinxy Bling. She brought a disco song just like in the good old days with a lot of sequins and a real disco wig!
Mira Rubia is the new girl in this world! She brought something very Disney with Belle from “Beauty & the Beast”, “Cinderella” and Ariel from “The Little Mermaid” and every time she found her prince charming!
Fourth girl Starina brought her well-known Ann Christy medley with a lot of emotions and power!
And the last but not least Miss Stephany did a nineties-medley with a lot of power and dance moves! The roof was on fire!!!
But Miss Michelle told the audience of this night, the game is just beginning and she lets us know that who was the best was, isn’t always the best on the pageant night! So come and see them at the 25th of February at Salons Mantovani in Oudenaarde.
