R.I.P. Axe Leito 1980 – 2023
So sad to hear that our friend and Mister Leather Netherlands 2019 Axe Leito has passed away!
Everybody who knew Axe remembers him as a friendly, caring and smiling guy. He stood up for the LGBTQIA COMMUNITY and loved the fetish world. He became in 2019 mister Leather Netherlands and that is how our paths crossed more after that. Always happy to see each other.
A few days ago Robin found Axe cold and stiff and not showing his beautiful and great smile anymore. What exactly happened we do not know. Even though Axe loved life itself, he also felt sometimes no hope anymore. It is very tragic what happened for Robin, his family, friends and loved ones and for our community. He will be dearly missed and we hope he found the peace he deserves.
Axe was born in Willemstad, Curacao on the 17th of November 1980 and lived in Amsterdam for many years now. He worked in the military and he was/is an icon in the gay and leather community. With his fiancée Robin, he did performances at the Gay Circus and Darklands Belgium. He was at a lot of social events for the community and brightened up the space with his big smile and laughter.
That is why it is so hard to believe, but may you rest in peace my friend.
We hoped to meet again for Darklands in a few weeks, but it will be a next time on the other side. It was always great to see and to talk to you and Robin. We will miss you deeply.
