RADIO DJ GOT FINALLY MARRIED TO HIS MAN #pinkbits

In Hasselt/Belgium radio DJ of JOE FM Bjorn Verhoeven got married last Saturday to his significant other Steven Putzeys at City Hall. Many friends, family members ,but also radio listeners came to be a part of their wedding. Bjorn had mentioned the time and place of the wedding on the radio and invited everybody to come. Well many people did and they all got treated to a glass of champagne after the ceremony.

The couple arrived in an old bus with lots of people. Not only their next of kin, but also TEN best men/women!!! They didn’t choose two like it is normally allowed but they insisted of ten and they all had to sign the marriage license. This has never been seen in Hasselt until now. ;o)

For the reception and evening party the happy couple invited totally 500 guests. In the afternoon there was a reception for amongst nephews and nieces and at 16.00 PM there was a ceremony with two priests. What most guest expected was serious business and were afraid of the jokes of those two priests. But they were not real priests, but comediants that were hired. It is still not allowed to marry for same-sex persons in a church, so they arranged these priests to fulfill the wedding ceremony including the exchange of the wedding rings.

A big party followed till late at night with a delicious meal, lots of drinks and performances. They opened the evening with a dance on Vivo Per Lei which continued in a big dance night. Singer and good friend of Bjorn Belle Perez spiced up the evening with a great performance as well. They also arranged a room like the Big Brother Diary Room, where the guests taped many great movies for the married men.

Bjorn and Steven ‘s love sparkled at a “I Love The 90’s Party” 5 years ago where the singer Paradisio performed her hits Bailando and Vamos a la Discoteca and look who showed up at 02.00 AM on stage. Great memories for them and a great tribute to their love.
