A BITE OUT OF OUR PINK WORLD www.pinkinourlives.com
Which gay doesn’t like a good musical or Play in the Theatre? And like every year in the USA the well-known Theatre Award “The Tony” has been given to some lucky winners on Sunday the 7th of June for 68th time!!!
Alan Cumming and Kristin Chenoweth were a delightful funning hosting pair of this year. And even though openly out hunk Neil Patrick Harris did not host this year, there was plenty of gay representation. Neil was luckily there as a presenter of best lead actress in a musical, so we didn’t had to miss him that much. Cumming, of course, co-hosted and producer Scott Rudin accepted the Tony for Skylight which won for Best Revival of a Play and straight actor Michael Cerveris won best lead actor in a musical for playing a gay dad in Fun Home.
Other gays participants included presenters Jim Parsons, David Hyde Pierce and Joel Grey who appeared onstage with his daughter Jennifer Grey. Fittingly, the Greys introduced a number from Fun Home about a daughter and her gay father. Prior to the telecast, John Cameron Mitchell was presented with a special Tony Award.
