Google Home’ Ad Features #GayDads!!!
In the latest Google Home ad showing off the device’s new ability to support multiple users, Google chose to also support #gayfamilies.
The 33-second ad, posted on #YouTube shows a gay couple, Ross and Alex, asking Google Home what their respective days look like. While Alex’s day is off to a rough, traffic-filled start, Ross’ free morning gives him the chance to give his man a hand by taking their daughter and son to school.
Openly out Pennsylvania Rep. Brian Sims’s response to a Facebook troll has gone viral this week after Sims called the troll’s grandmother. 
The troll, named “David”, had called Sims a racist, homophobic slur, and Sims saw that the troll had also, for some reason, posted his grandmother’s phone number on his own page. So Sims did what not every socially responsible lawmaker would take the time to do. He called the troll’s grandmother and had a little discussion about her grandson.
Brian wrote: “Dear Bigots, posting your grandmother’s telephone number all over the same page you use to post slurs on other people’s pages is not going to end well for you”.

“There is certainly nothing wrong with someone being public about his or her HIV-status, but by allowing people to identify themselves, at least in part, by this attribute on a public profile, dating apps put pressure on HIV-positive people to out themselves. It’s a tacit promotion of “serosorting,” which is discrimination based on HIV-status. There is the option to leave this field blank and most apps do not allow users to filter members based on HIV-status alone. However for subscribers who choose not to publicly disclose their status, I suspect it will invite suspicion in much the same way it does when users don’t disclose their age, weight, ethnicity or relationship status. Thus it will have the unintended consequence of alienating users who are honest or choose not to publicly disclose their status.
I understand the option to list HIV-status on these apps is a nod toward public health and that is commendable, but I’m skeptical of its efficacy. There’s nothing to stop someone from lying about their HIV-status in their profile, and so those who are actually honest about being HIV-positive will be the ones to suffer. Any user of these apps knows how downright hateful people can be on them, particularly when anonymous. Those who choose to disclose their status could end up enduring unnecessary cruelty. Their honesty will be punished, and I don’t think we will be any better off than before”.

Baseball player Ryan Jordan Santana came out publicly on live television Monday night, sharing the truth about his sexual orientation with his mother and teammates for the first time. The dramatic coming-out was part of TLC’s series This Is Life Live.
He played college baseball at Azusa Pacific Univ. in Southern California. Playing at Azusa Pacific was a tough spot for him because he does believe in God. It was challenging time for sure. He first realized he was attracted to men around the age of 15 but felt he couldn’t tell anyone. “I lived a lie my whole life. I was always too afraid to even tell my teammates. But I don’t want to have to lie to them about this part of me anymore.”
The show’s host asked Santana one of the million-dollar questions: Why come out to your family on national television? “I feel like I struggled with it, and I know there are others struggling with their sexuality as well,” Santana said. “And I feel like I don’t want them to feel alone or by themselves. And i want to let them know they are not alone. I want to be some kind of outlet, a light.” He said he was unable to say the words “I’m gay” out loud just 10 months ago.
