On the 12th of April the 29th GLAAD Media Awards were presented on stage at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. The event was hosted by Wanda Sykes.
The GLAAD Media Awards recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the LGBTQ community and the issues that affect their lives. They also fund GLAAD’s work to amplify stories from the LGBTQ community that build support for equality. GLAAD Media Award nominees were published, released or broadcast between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017.
Sexiest and adorable moment of the evening was when Olympians Adam Rippon and Gus Kenworthy took to the stage after a lively toast to Ketel One Family-Made Vodka. Afterwards, Rippon discussed his friendship with Kenworthy, which Kenworthy responded to with a kiss:

Stephen F. Kolzak Award: Jim Parsons and he got this presented by director Ryan Murphy
Vanguard Award: Britney Spears and she got it presented by Ricky Martin
Outstanding Film; Limited Release “A Fantastic Woman” (Sony Pictures Classics)
Outstanding TV Movie or Limited Series: When We Rise (ABC)
Outstanding Comic Book: Black Panther: World of Wakanda (Marvel Comics)
Outstanding Daily Drama: The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS)
Outstanding Digital Journalism Article: “Why Bisexual Men Are Still Fighting to Convince Us They Exist” by Samantha Allen (Splinter)
Outstanding Blog: TransGriot (transgriot.blogspot.com)
GLAAD announced a Special Recognition Award to the animated short film “In A Heartbeat”.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS!!! Let’s hope there will be more visibility, acceptance and support again in 2018 as well and give closet cases the strength to come out and to be themselves.
