It is that time of the year again, because next week on the first of June 2019 is the Finals again of the 7th edition of Mister Gay Belgium.. Then we will know who follows up current Mister Gay Belgium Bart Hesters. But now every candidate will introduce themselves in a personal interview 
with us. Who is your favorite? The seventh candidate is Geoff Fontignie, 35 years old and he did his coming out in the year 2007. His campaign is about “Diversification in schools and education”.
How did u find about this election and what does Mister Gay Belgium means for you?
“I met Bart Hesters by accident last summer in Antwerp . After looking for 
some information I quickly realized that this contest was more that an beauty pageant and a good way to open doors to someone who have ideas and motivation to works on projects for our Community”.
What is your topic/Campaign and how will u bring your message known to the public?
“I’m already busy with projects associations related to education, also I 
planned to meet some politics and explain them my projects . Education is our strongest weapon , people have to understand this ! I’ll also try to make more visibility of the contest in Wallonia and in Brussels and …in Spain”!
How was your coming out and how were the reactions around you?
“Generally it was fine and I have never problems when I say it but mainly people where more upset because I didn’t tell it before ! I’m really lucky to have a respectful and beloved family who accepted me like I am. Also my friend and colleagues are quite open minded so I’m lucky there too . But I admit that if people doesn’t ask , I don’t tell it neither” .
What advice would you give to young gays that did not come out 
of the closet yet?
“Prepare yourself correctly and also your relatives before making your coming out. If you feel rejected don t worry we are a big family there will be always someone to accept and love you”!
Do you think we still need a Pride in this world for our community and 
why?
“We still need to fight about a lot of things, especially against those conservatives politics who want to destroy our rights so until we are not accepted 100% like everyone, then it’s still necessary to continue them”!
Which handsome man can accompagnie you at the red carpet events when u 
become Mister Gay Belgium 2019?
“There are so many I would love to bring at the red carpet but I ‘ll choose Kit harington ( John Snow in Games of thrones), because he is just the perfection for me”!
